SUMMARY

We are an innovative and market-leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers.  We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.

We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role, however during your initial training period the need to be in the office with other team members will be essential. Our UK office is based in Chorley, which is where you will be based.

The team supporting ESGs CRM/Billing system is growing and we are looking for passionate, driven, and talented people to join us in our journey in providing the best in breed systems for energy suppliers to service their customers. ESG are specifically looking for an energy business analyst with I&C experience.

As a business analyst on our team, you will be involved in all areas of the development cycle within our sprint teams covering everything from new features, industry change, defect management and client roadmap deliveries.

Role Responsibilities

  • To Produce functional requirements in the form of user stories for use by developers and test analysts within the different operational sprint teams. This includes coverage of both existing product changes and for brand new solutions.
  • To provide and share your I&C knowledge and expertise with the team.
  • To be a point of contact for the team and wider teams within ESG regarding any I&C requirements.
  • To provide industry expertise and documentation to ESG in their software development and provide interpretation of industry compliance requirements to ESG.
  • To provide expertise and support to both teams internal to ESG across products and external clients using ESG software solutions.
  • To provide a first line interface for colleagues and clients to interpret and translate complex business requirements to simple functional requirements to the CRM/Billing sprint teams.
  • To manage and prioritise requirements against industry, customer and internal expectations and deadlines.
  • To effectively communicate requirements to the wider business and stakeholders.
  • To collaboratively work with developers and test analysts to problem solve and resolve issues with requirements, including but not limited to, conflicting functionality and timelines.
  • To review testing and technical documentation against requirements before delivery is signed off.
  • To create and maintain product guides and user documentation.
  • On some occasions, to provide training to colleagues and clients on CRM/Billing functionality/changes.

Project Responsibilities

  • To report on progress including checkpoints in delivery and/or blockers during product delivery.
  • To understand, participate and occasionally lead in the internal change control process.
  • To understand the importance of quality control.

You must have:

  • Experience in I&C/Business energy practices including billing.
  • Experience within the energy sector regarding dataflows and supplier management.
  • Experience using and/or designing CRM functions.

  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Any applicable Business Analyst qualifications such as BSC Certificate in Business Analyst Practice.
  • Understanding of Half Hourly practices and procedures within the energy industry.
  • Experience working directly with developers and test analysts on product development.
  • Understanding and knowledge of smart meter operations.
  • Understanding and knowledge of prepayment operations.
  • Experience working with 3rd party clients/agents.
  • Working in an agile software development environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present information, including requirements in a clear and concise way.
